Analysis of soil erosion state and torrential floods in Western Balkan Countries
The preparatory phase of the project includes the analysis of soil erosion risk and the state of flash flood prevention in the Western Balkans. As part of the preparatory package WP1, the universities of program countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Italy) will analyze the protection of the soil from erosion and torrents in the territory of their country and reveal their experience with preventive measures and works.
The universities from Balkan countries will analyze erosion and torrent control in the territory of their country in cooperation with other partners. In the planned workshop, EU experience will be presented as well as the experience of the Balkan countries in problem solving in this field. The work package leader will file a report on the established state.
The second part of the preparatory package WP1 refers to the analysis of the curriculum developed at the universities of the EU partner countries in the project, as well as the evaluation of existing study programs at universities in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The experience of universities in the educational process in the field of erosion control and flood control will be the basis for determining the objectives and learning outcomes, as well as the scope of changes that need to be made in the curricula.

Activities
The activity includes the assessment of the endangered state of soil from erosion in the territory of the states of the Balkan countries (Serbia, B&H, Macedonia). P1-P6 and P8 partners are included in the performance of this activity.
Research into the measures and works undertaken with respect to prevention from the harmful effect of torrential flows in the territories of the states of the Western Balkans. The analysis of the occurrences of torrential floods in this region. P1-P7 and P8 partners on the Project will take part in this activity.
EU countries’ partners (P7-P10) will draft a report on the measures for and works on the protection of soil from erosion and the arrangement of torrential catchments in the territories of their own countries. The Report will include theoretical and practical experiences and recommendations for application in the Western Balkan States.
The partners from the EU will submit the Report on Analysis and Assessment of Bachelor and Master Curriculum in the field of prevention from torrential floods at their universities. The analysis will also include the assessment of the knowledge and skills of graduate students for their work in practice. Partners P7-P9 will participate in this activity.
It is planned that for the purpose of the analysis of the bachelor and master curricula best practices in the EU one workshop is conducted in each one of the states within the framework of the study stays of teachers from the Balkan countries at EU universities. The Workshop would last for 3 days, and within the two days curricula would be presented at the universities.
